Connie's Apple-Nut Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

·         2 cups flour

 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 by 13-inch glass baking dish with butter.

In a large bowl, cream together shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla and the eggs. Add chopped apples; add sour cream; add flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Pour into prepared 9” x13” baking dish.

 In a small dish mix nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. (Nuts can be chopped in a bag with rolling pin.) Sprinkle mixture over cake. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve wram. 

This recipe can be made the night before and refrigerated overnight.

·         ½ cup shortening

·         1 teaspoon vanilla

·         2 large apples or 3/4 cup applesauce

·         1 cup sour cream or buttermilk

·         ½ cup brown sugar

·         2 teaspoons butter

·         1 teaspoon cinnamon

·         ½ cup nuts
