Everly is believed to be named after a Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad conductor or a surveyor when it was surveyed and platted in 1884. The town was originally called Clark.

Families will enjoy visiting the Sunny Brooks School as it is a living monument to the Educational Centers of our country's rural communities.  One room school houses were once the norm in our country and this one has been restored and preserved for all generations to enjoy.

Sunny Brooks School, a 1927 vintage school house, is located in the Everly Community Park.

The park is nicely landscaped and even has a vintage wishing-well ~ now planted with lovely flowers adjacent to the school house.

The "All Wars" Memorial sits along the roadway on the edge of the Everly Community Park.

A wonderful tribute to men and women who serve to protect our freedoms.

The last service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly, Iowa was held on June 27, 2004.

The 4 acres of land where the First Reform Church has stood for years was sold and will transfer ownership in early July, 2004, the building will be demolished.
