The Fostoria Cenex is a one-stop convenience store where travelers can gas-up, have a quick sandwich or snack and take a few moments to rest along their journey down NW Iowa's Hwy. 71. Local residents meet daily for coffee and donuts in the cozy seating area. Restroom is in-doors and is well-maintained. Cenex also sells Diesel, ice, pizzas, & soft-serve ice cream.

The Prairie Cottage is located at 14 Main Street, directly across the street from Farmer's Savings Bank, and is a popular vacation getaway for families and small groups visiting in the Fostoria and Iowa Great Lakes area. Rent by the night, the week-end or the week. Guests have the entire house, including private enclosed patio area, to themselves.

	Fostoria has great gardeners! Present and past Fostoria residents are regular "Blue Ribbon Winners" at the Clay County Fair! Pictured to the left is just a few of the ribbons won by the Hicks and Painter families at the Clay County Fair in 2000. Plus, they take home many awards for their outstanding vegetables grown in their Fostoria Garden! Dewey Stouffer, a long time Fostoria resident, has even invented a unique seed planter and he annually grows a variety of native Iowa prairie flowers.
