Fostoria is located just ten minutes from the shores of Lake Okoboji. It is a beautiful area with forest, lakes and much more.

8 miles to the West of Fostoria is Mori Prairie, a protected area of virgin prairie. 3 miles to the East is Schmerse's, another area filled with natural beauty.

Prairie flowers begin to bloom in early to mid-July and many Fostoria residents grow them in their home gardens. This photo was taken just outside Fostoria at the Prairie Gardens on July 15th, 2003.

Growing Pumpkins In Fostoria Gardens

Three miles to the West of Fostoria is The Prairie Flower where guided and unguided tours are available during Spring and Summer months.

Fostoria is just 8 miles from the Okoboji Game Farm, LLC --a licensed hunting preserve. Hunting season for pheasant runs from September 1 to March 31. The can custom build a hunt for you by calling 712-853-6378 or email them at dldodge@terril.net for reservations.
