The Founding of Fostoria's Only Church happened "In circa, 1893, the Milwaukee Railroad was extended from Spencer to Spirit Lake, Iowa and a depot was built at Fostoria.
 
   
   
 

Blacked-eyed Susans grow in abundance in and around Clay County.

  • 8 miles to the West of Fostoria is Mori Prairie, a protected area of virgin prairie. 3 miles to the East is Schmerse's, another area filled with natural beauty.

   

You'll find a large variety of Marigolds in Fostoria Gardens. Pictured above are Tangerine Gem, Yellow Lemon Drop and Cream Marigolds. Raspberries are a perennial in NW Iowa, children love picking them ~ they arrive around mid-July.

Fostoria has great gardeners!

Present and past Fostoria residents are regular "Blue Ribbon Winners" at the Clay County Fair!  Several of Fostoria's resident bring home awards each year at the Clay County Fair for their outstanding vegetables.
