Do they work on jeans or other heavier material?
Which one works the best and is easy to work with?

This one.
I have one like it (their model from 5 years ago) and it works well. I have used it to sew brocade, denim (jeans) and then (with a needle change) I've also sewn satin and very fine linen.
When sewing more than 4 layers (turning under a hem on store bought jeans) it gets a bit lazy (ok it downright won't sew and I have to "walk" it thru with the pressure foot up and turning the hand wheel). But that's with any household machine. Only an industrial or semi industrial can take that weight of material.
But I have used it in making my own pair of jeans and it works just fine.

One more thing. Stay away from new Singer's. From experience they have too many problems. Most of the sewing factories I've worked in use Brother's or ANCIENT (pre-1950's) Singer's. Although if you can find a Singer from before the 1980's it's probably a good one (my sister has one she found at Goodwill for $20, it will do almost anything).

But the Brother model you posted is almost identical to mine and I have used mine for 5 years and only had to clean lint out, oil it, and change the needles.
Plus Brother is still made in the USA. Singer went overseas in the 80's (why their quality went down).

Good Luck and happy sewing.
