Laser Printers - What to Look for When Getting a New Laser Color Printer
Looking to get yourself a new color laser printer? If so, you really need to read this article. First we will look at the main features that you will find on a color laser printer, then move onto looking some additional features you should look out for. General Features of a Laser Color Printer
There's lots to take into account when buying a new printer. However, here are the main features that your new printer must have:
- Paper Volume: if you want to do a lot of printing, you a large paper tray is essential, otherwise you'll go mad with constantly having to reload the paper all the time.
- Availability & Cost of Consumables: it's no good getting a great deal on a low-cost printer, only to find you have to spend loads of money on new printer cartridges, or that they are hard to find.
- Duty Cycle: how many pages the printer can easily print each month without breaking. Have a serious think about how many pages you are going to need to print on a month-by month basis, and choose a printer that is designed to cope with it.
- Memory: a large RAM is essential if you plan to print a lot of graphic-intensive documents.
Other Features of a Laser Color Printer
Although the list above gives you the main features to look out for, here are some other features which you may find useful to look for:
- Duplex Printing: this is a time-saving feature, as it will automatically print on both sides of the paper. If you work in a big office with lots of other people, this could really serve you well. If, on the other hand, you're only going to use this printer by yourself, or in a small office with only a few other people, you may not need it. Simply print all the odd pages and then flip over to print the even ones.
- Speed: cheaper printers print slower than more expensive ones. That being said, this only really matters if you're in a big office where there are many of you all wanting to print at the same time.
- Networking: if you want your printer to be part of your computer network, get one with built-in networking capabilities. Look for the letter N on the end of the model number.

- HP: $175-$5,300. Numerous products spread across an incredibly broad price range. You're bound to find something to suit your needs and budget here.
- Lexmark: $249-$4,700. A number of products across quite a wide price range.
- Xerox: $220-$5,200. An extremely good printer brand. A good collection of products across an exceedingly wide price range.
- Samsung: $150-$770. Not very a lot of products to choose from, but they are a good make.
- Brother: $240-$600. Again, not numerous products but a decent brand.

There's nothing especially inappropriate in it, other than bad writing. The characters tend to do this faux-shakespearean cursing thing where they stick random negative descriptors with random misliked animals, instead of real life swears. What little sexual tension there is is hinted at too subtly for an 8-year-old. Probably harmless.
