which sewing, embroidery machine should I buy?
I havent used one before but there is a deal on the sofia babylock embroidery/sewing machine 699.00 but im am unsure of which to get between the sofia or brother one at walmart, they look identical just about but the sofia has a usb port vs the brother just having a card port.
Anyone who knows much about machines help me out here should I spend the extra for what seems like a usb port?

What advantage would having the usb connection give me, and am I just paying for the name?
Answer:
Babylock has wonderful machines.
With the Sofia you have many more features that what is offered with the Brother 350, including dealer support, which is where you will need to go to test drive the machine.
I have learned that a machine with a larger hoop area is more beneficial.
Both brands and models you have given are limited to 4 x 4 and this also limits the size of the design you can stitch.
In addition, a dealer will most likely also offer lessons and classes.
