The HL 5050 Toner Cartridge Is A Laser Printer That Wins And Prints On A Budget.
The Brother HL 5050 printer is another winner from Brother. There are two things that are going in the right direction for this printer.
The first is its low price tag and the second is the rather compact footprint. This in turn means that this printer is a great fit for tight budget and crowded workspaces of small offices. This printer produces top quality monochrome prints at break neck speeds. It also has the ability to print on both sides of the paper. It's built in network capability means that it can easily be connected to an existing office's or home's network.
At the prince rage this printer is at this is definitely a winner. Small office owners and home office owners will especially like the features this printer has to offer. This printer has awesome printing ability. We were especially excited about the high quality text that the printer printed.
The Brother HL 5050 arrives factory fitted with a 250 sheet in the bottom. There is yet another tray in front that can hold another 50 sheets of paper. This can be used for two purposes either feed paper or to stack envelopes for printing.
However at this price the built-in duplexer is one attractive feature. If you need more paper you can attach two more optional paper trays. Each of these trays has a capacity of 250 sheets and attach to the bottom of the printer.
There is also a 150 sheet output bin and right besides that there is a control panel with two buttons. There area also four lights but an LCD screen is missing. However not having an LCD doesn't make life difficult. It's easy to input network parameters via the provided buttons. The booklet that comes along with the printer is colorful and well designed which makes attaching the printer easy. Troubleshooting is made easy by the guide provided in PDF format in the CD-Rom. If you still need help to setup the printer you can brows to Brother's website. Here you can download very useful and simple network administration tools from the website.
The printer is capable of printing excellent quality text at high speeds witht the HL 5050 Toner. The speed and quality text combine to make this printer one of the best in its price range. Line art and other graphics also looked great. The printer also has the ability to output excellent monochrome graphics and text. There were however a few strange things we spotted with some letters of some fonts.
We found changing the HL 5050 Printer Cartridge to be easy and well documented. You just located the drum assembly located in the front. However the printer comes company fitted with a standard size HL 5050 Toner Cartridge which should give you a live of 3000 pages. If you want to save some money you can purchase a larger capacity cartridge by shelling out an extra $100. This larger one will last you for 700 pages.
