When I turn the side wheel to lower the needle in the fabric the wheel is a little stiff to turn and makes a grinding sound. When I put the foot down to sew the machine automatically stops and makes a high pitch long lasting sound like gears out of place, followed by many beeps, and E6 appears on the screen. There is no tangled thread anywhere, everything is properly threaded.
Answer:
Open the throat plate - this is where sensor is located for "tangled thread" and is the closest the computer can come to diagnosing the problem.
Removed the bobbin case and clean the entire area.
The problem could be tangled thread or lint.
