Student of the Month

As of December 1st, Mr. Johnson will be naming one student from the Beginner Class and one student from the Advanced Class as Student of the Month.  Mr. Johnson will pick the most deserving student based on the following criteria: the student's demonstration of focus, enthusiasm, goal setting, cooperation, self-control, perseverance, confidence, respect, responsibility, and leadership.

All students at the Spencer Taekwondo Club should be actively following the following rules & guidelines.

  • Before entering and leaving the training area, students are to bow in order to show respect for the training area, fellow students & the instructors.
  • All students above White Belt are required to know the first & second half of the Songahm Spirit of Taekwondo.
  • If a student is in the room when the "Songahm Spirit of Taekwondo" pledge is recited, he/she must stand at attention and recite the pledge with the group, whether or not he is in uniform or a participant in the class.
  • Students are required to wear an ATA approved uniform.  The uniform should be clean as should the student wearing the uniform.
  • Students should use the restroom before coming to class. If necessary, it is acceptable during class to ask permission to be excused.
  • When asking a question to your instructor, the student should always raise hand & wait for the instructor to give the student permission to speak.
  • When given instructions by a black belt or instructor, student is to always respond with a Yes Sir/Ma'am or No Sir/Ma'am.
  • All students should treat everyone with respect.
  • When given instructions by an instructor, student should promptly follow those instructions.
  • When standing on your "dot", students should always show discipline & respect by standing like a Black Belt.
  • Students, parents and guests will not converse with any person involved in a class session without the permission of the instructor.
  • Students are encouraged to participate in class enthusiastically; however, students should avoid unnecessary conversation, and should speak only at the proper times.
  • Students should set short-term goals and meet those goals.

Each month, Mr. Johnson will be helping each student pick goals in which they will focus on during that month.  A potential Student of the Month will work on his/her goals throughout the month.  In order to reach set goals, students should be working on these goals not only in class but also at home.
